A good, general reference is always useful to everyone [particularly ase, who's rather struggling with college physics at the moment]. Lots of listies are extremely widely-read [e.g., stoutfellow, the math prof who's frequently talking about linguistic stuff]. Also, although not articulate as often some [like they can mug the spare electrons to get a word in edgewise ;)], the techies are about. There's selenite, celticdragonfly's spouse, the engineer. There's ever and always p_o_u_n_c_e_r, among many others. Besides, it's a short referral/mention; it's not like you're writing a whole book [although there're plenty up for that too].
Cross-posting is good, because not everyone reads both LJ and the list. You should also mention your LJ id on list at regular intervals; it'll remind others to do likewise, & you'll have less chance of interested parties missing out.
