Oh, Goody! Another Nerd test!

I think I got extra credit for gray hair.

Because if one has been around awhile and is nerdy enough to contemplate taking the test, one will have done most of these things.

When I was an undergrad, I was doing a project with some coding in a decimal assembly language on an old Burroughs. If I was willing to work at night, I could have the machine to myself. Which was a blessing to the other users considering the level of my coding skills at the time. There was a notice posted on the bulletin board to the effect that they had gotten this new kind of program called a "compiler" and people were invited to try it out.

I am an Uber Cool Nerd God - something is very wrong with that test. Or it needs more shades of meaning. Frex, I used Fortran for one summer school class, really it shouldn't count for much.

The anonymous comment you just got, was from me. LJ logged me out again.

I do that much more than I like to admit. :<}

Yes, I think the test is designed to pander. :<)

But I do actually have a pocket protector! With a picture of Bob Frankston on it! And three (3) slide rules. And 2 Apple ]['s. (I have to keep saying all this as much as possible, because we're moving into a smaller place and it won't be true this time next year :<{ )

I wonder sometimes what it would take to reduce/eliminate the collection of old computers (Mac & IBM both) that has accumulated in our basement. I wouldn't pay to store them, so I guess we'd have to move to a smaller place too.

Ain't happenin'.

hee! Sounds like maybe you did earn your title. ;<)

I didn't bother mentioning the old Windoze carcasses lying about - can't count that high without taking off my shoes. Most of them will have to go, too. Most of them were donations to the Youth Group or Senior Center - but they were too outdated for them. And I have procrastinated.

No matter how long I'm around, I'll never have high scores on the science/math and technology/computers score. On the other hand, I should be way off the chart on the history/literature bit, since I plan to get paid for geeking out all hard-core on texts, texts, texts. Given more money, I could go pretty high on sci-fi/comics, too.

Yes. If they had asked questions of any depth, it would have distinguished a lot better. As it was, I got credit for having a historical atlas and knowing where it was. I got it over 40 years ago - but I don't suppose history maps change as fast as current ones do.
