Bujold quote meme

When you see a Bujold quote, post another Bujold quote in your LJ, and see how long we can keep it going.

Such riches to choose from...

I better get this in while I can . . .

"Shopping."

(back to lurking.  Still trying to sell a house.)

I wonder how much of Arde's "jump lag" in WG was lack of sleep over where he was going and who he was going to meet [g].

I don't remember anyone discussing the whole Dendarii Mercenaries name thing (and I've read the entire list archive -- we had some very slow periods on the reference desk a few times) . Then again, it was brought up in Brothers in Arms when the "imaginary" clone issue came up. Still, you'd think they'd have twigged to it before then. Not to mention knowing what Admiral Naismith looked like, and they didn't kidnap him during Cetaganda? I suppose that would have caused an interplanetary incident.

Anyway, if you're feeling brave, bring it up on the list. It would make for an interesting discussion. And knowing them, they'd probably Watsonianly rationalize it somehow.

heh. Have to go back and reread BiA. Not one of my favorites, but I picked up the Miles Errant, so I have it. Won't really be able to pay attention to an extended discussion until next year. Probably better review the FAQs, too. The Listees are good. Which is why I like to hang around, but one does feel pressure to do one's homework, first. ;<)

Yeah, they do keep you on your toes. I've put my foot in my mouth by not having my details exactly right on a couple of occasions.

It is the most interesting mailing list, day in and day out, that I've ever subscribed to, though.

Dear gods, you've read the entire Archive?!? Thems some mighty slow times indeed. I have about 350 digests from this spring/summer that I didn't have time to read back then, and I find that number ... daunting.

Well, I joined the list in 2000, so I only had to read up to that point [g]. Really, it wasn't that much, and I did it over the course of several years.

I could have been more productive, I suppose, but I certainly couldn't have enjoyed myself more.
